TGIF: April 19, 2013

Another week down! I'm definitely counting down until the end of the semester-- there's about three and a half weeks left. I've still been applying to jobs, but my first priority right now is finishing out the semester strong. It's definitely difficult to remain motivated because there's a lot of institutional problems with my school and it doesn't seem like these courses will be useful in the long-run, but I know what I signed up for and I'm committed to seeing it through to the end of the semester. Here's a couple mini-moments from this week:

Keith and I actually cooked dinner together to make Chicken Parm. It was a staple of his during college, so he made the chicken while I made some tomato sauce. It was great making something together. Usually I'm mostly ad-libbing in the kitchen, which is hard to do with another person.

Sorry if you don't like feet! I updated my toenails to a more spring-y color and I'm in love! I know most people are using bright neons and pastels this season, but more subdued hues are really more my style. This dusty-pink feels like a warm neutral, which is perfect for me. The color is Sally Hansen Insta-Dri in Expresso.

I spent a few afternoons this week paper-writing. Surprisingly, this is the first paper that I've had to write in grad school. I also tried adding milk and honey to my tea and it's a game-changer! I've always been a bit of purist when it comes to coffee and tea, but taking my tea this way is a change that I'm willing to embrace (you'll never get me to add cream to my coffee though).

I've really taken to embracing my mornings. This has been my breakfast all week: vanilla yogurt, fresh strawberries, crasins, and walnut pieces with a drizzle of honey. Absolutely delightful.

I finally finished reading Anna Karenina this week. I've been carrying it around since January! I have a full write-up on it coming next Tuesday, but I'm just so excited that I've finished it. I'm still reading City Chic in my free time, but I've also stared What the Dog Saw.

Tell me about your week! Any lovely mini-moments worth remembering?

Linking up with Lauren Elizabeth for High Five for Friday
