Before I get into my weekly wrap-up, I want to let you know that I'm filling in for Manda over at Break The Sky while she's visiting her long-distance boyfriend. Since I have some experience with long distance relationships, I thought it was timely to share some of my experiences. Check out my post HERE.
The end of the semester is pretty rough. Lots of paper-writing, exams, and presentations in all of my classes. I've finally been picking up more hours at work too, so needless to say, this week has been less than photogenic. I do have a couple snaps to share, though.
Okay, I know that raw chicken isn't the nicest to look at but I've finally started prepping my meals in advance. You guys, what a game-changer. I've started to realize that a lot of the time when I binge on junk food, it's because I'm so hungry that I need to eat rightthisminute and don't have the time to prepare something. When my meals are ready to go, I'm more inclined to grab something good. This week I made a couple salads in jars to take to work, breakfast parfaits (or snack parfaits), and Italian chicken with brussel sprouts (pictured above) for dinner one night when I knew that I'd be coming home from school late. This is definitely a practice that I'd like to turn into habit.
I feel a little uncomfortable putting this picture on the Internet, but I'm just SO proud that I was able to do this pose. I first attempted it about a month and a half ago when I really started practicing yoga and I just couldn't do it. I didn't have the arm or core strength. After several weeks of regular practice, I'm finally able to do it! Even though my form isn't great and I could only hold it for about 5 deep breathes, it's proof of my progress.
Cell phone snap of the daffodils on campus. It's my favorite flower and I love that it's warm enough that they're popping up everywhere. Even though school is the last place I want to be most of the time, they always puts a smile on my face.
Photobooth pic of my uniform lately. Comfortable patterned top under a jean jacket and over black, cropped skinnies. Perfectly casual and comfortable. I'm really into the casual chic trend happening right now, like pairing a baseball cap with a cotton button down or cool sneakers with slim pants. Definitely a trend that I can get behind.
How's your week been? I'd love to hear about it in the comments!
